Glasgow Airport by Bus

Buses depart from the front of the terminal building at Bus Stop 1. The bus you should choose is called City Link (usually blue and yellow) and will say Glasgow on the front. (It may say Glasgow city centre). The route is called service 905. Single fare to the city centre is £3,50 and aqn open return £5.30 return.

The bus will take approximately 25 minutes into the city centre. You should ask the driver to let you know when the bus reaches Queen Street railway station. Disembark here and walk a short distance in the direction of the back of the bus until you reach Buchanan Street (about 50 yards). Turn right and you will see Buchanan Street Underground Station. Go down, get a ticket (they are all the same price – £1.00) and go to the Inner Circle (see attached PDF). Take the train to Hillhead station – four stops along. When you leave the station you will be on Byres Road. For the conference hotel, turn right on leaving the station and walk up Byres Road for about 500 yards until you reach the library on your right. Cross the road at the crossing, turn right and continue on for about 300 yards. You will pass a supermarket on you left. Turn first left and the Glasgow Hilton Grosvenor Hotel entrance is about 50 yards along that road.

If you are heading for another hotel you can get a taxi in front of Hillhead underground station.

From the Rail Station

Glasgow has two railway stations: Central Station and Queen Street Station. It is most likely if you are traveling by train that you will end up at Central Station. You can either get the underground (inner circle) from St Enoch’s station or Buchanan Street Station. You should ask someone for directions – they are both very close.

You can get a taxi from the airport in front of the terminal. The journey to the conference hotel will cost about £20.00. If you want a cheaper taxi and have a mobile, you can call 0141 2222220 for a private hire at about £13. You can also get a taxi from the city centre which will cost about £5.00.
